Insurance- Roots Billing Service

We work closely with Jennifer Vracin at Roots Billing to ensure that our clients are able to maximize any insurance benefits they have for midwifery care. If you would like to know what your coverage is before starting care, please use the contact page on her site to verify benefits. We accept all private health insurance companies as out-of-network providers. We are unable to accept Oregon Health Plan as a form of payment, though we do offer sliding scale fees for families who qualify - please call us for more information and pricing. 

Midwifery Care and Home Birth

  • All visits take place in the comfort of your own home. Clients starting care early in pregnancy receive monthly visits until 30 weeks. Bi-weekly visits from 32-36 weeks, then weekly visits until birth. Most clients see us for 13-15 prenatal appointments before labor. Referrals are sent if indicated or requested to other providers.
  • Your home birth from the time you feel like you need support, through active labor and the first two or more hours postpartum as needed. Two licensed midwives and our student attend all home births.
  • We come back to see you for postpartum and well baby visits at 24 hours, on day three or four, and one week. We also continue these visit bi-weekly at two, four and six weeks.

Planned Hospital Births and Midwifery Care 

  • All visits take place in the comfort of your own home. Clients starting care early in pregnancy receive monthly visits until 30 weeks. Bi-weekly visits from 32-36 weeks, then weekly visits until birth. Most clients see us for 13-15 prenatal appointments before labor. Referrals are sent if indicated or requested to other providers. We will communicate closely with your hospital providers throughout care and transfer your records to them prior to labor.
  • Support at home from early labor through the planned transfer to the hospital setting, continued care in active labor and through the immediate postpartum as needed. 
  • We see you for a check-in at 24 hours in the hospital. Postpartum and well baby care is continued in your home on day three or four, seven days, two, four and six weeks.
